Greeting bro…

Today I just upgraded this website to the latest wordpress 3.0.

Prior upgrade

Before the upgrade, I backup the whole cpanel files and databases. It took me several hours from the backup until I download the backup file into my own hardisk. Anyway, it does not matter, since I leave the computer during the backup.

During upgrade

To do the upgrade, I just press the button in the wordpress admin to upgrade to wordpress 3.0 automatically. It is very easy. In a matter of seconds, I found that the upgrade of core files has been completed.

Next is to upgrade some of the old wordpress plugins. I also just press the button to upgrade wordpress plugin automatically.

After upgrade

This is my review of WordPress 3.0: First impression, the admin panel is now brighter. It made me feel more power and passion to write a new post.

Do you know that behind the scene, wordpress 3.0 also fixed 1,217 bugs! That’s a lot. So it is very recommended that you upgrade your wordpress to WordPress 3.0.

Thelonious

WordPress 3.0 is also called Thelonious, according to the official blog post. Well, I don’t know what is the meaning of Thelonious. The official blog also did not explain it.

So I search Google with keyword define:Thelonious. What I get is that Thelonious is the name of  American jazz pianist and composer. Seems not related to wordpress. :(

But, this is what I think the first time when I heard Thelonious is

ketela

A ketela (in bahasa indonesia) is a kind of tree that can be eaten because it contain lots of carbohydrate. Image is taken from wiki, so some right reserved.

So what do you think the first time you heard Thelonious? Comment below

  1. Do you think that we should all upgrade right away or would you suggest holding back in case there are some bugs which might be critical to WP security?
