If you have supermagazine wordpress theme, and you interested to use it,…
Sometimes, some problems will shown up.
Problem wich often occure were your post have no THUMBNAIL, or your image not shown. Or even you want to give pictures, but you do not know how to do it?
I could give those statements above, because first time i use this theme, i got the same problems also. Then, after hard works, find more information etc, finally i can make it works perfectly.
1. Thumbnail (picture problems)
There are 2 areas that you should consider it out. First is FEATURED area (shown at the top post with largest image), and the second were common post. FEATURED post area will shown your post that have category as “featured”. So if you wanna show something here, your post should describe as ‘featured’ category, then make new ‘featured’ category (if you have not build it).
The common post area will show your other category. It usually shown one post on the other category (not ‘featured’ category), for now, i still now study about this area, so just leave it.
To make your images shown, you must upload your images via your wordpress panels. It means that images that shown here were images that stored inside your blog. You cannot give image directly from other site. You should upload it manually.
a. For Featured category images, you should fill te Custom Fields area with name : breakingnews (area 1) and fill your images url in area 2. Then click ‘add custom fields’
b. For commond post area, fill area 1 with image and fill area 2 with your image url.
If the image still not shown up, just open your theme directory (at your hosting). You can use FTP or you can access it via file manager within cpanel. See inside your ’supermagazine’ theme folder. Inside those folder there will be ‘PLUGINS’ folder, and inside those plugin folder will be “cache” folder. First, this folder were ‘must’ be there. And you must change those folder permission as 777., so your blog could write your cache images for thumbnail.
2. Block Of news Problem
It should be no problems here, you can configure it easily at “Super Magazine Options”. You can find it at Appereance area in your wordpress left sidebar. In here you can specified the title, and wich category that will shown up here, and you can also specified how many LINK that will be show.
3. Got an error in sidebar?
Most problems will occure here. Firtsly you use this theme, there will show some error mesages. This error triggered by PLUGINS. This Super Magazine Theme need two plugins. It must be use these plugins (actually, you can leave this plugin if you have time to edit the plugin script, but for now, do not do that).
2 plugin that i mentioned above were POPULARITY CONTEST plugins, and MOST COMMENTED plugins. When i got this theme, it also contain those two plugin. So, upload it first, and activate it.
Sometimes, POPULARITY CONTEST plugin will triggered some error when you activate it. To solve this problems, you can see it here : How to fix popularity contest problems
With those steps above, you will found that your theme works perfectly. On my other post, i will share my experience to MODIFY this theme, so it will be MORE adsense friendly. It means that i will show you my best position of adsense code, and how to make it.

it seems your sidebar got wrongly coded,..
usually,.. it caused by some that missing, or too much.

i use supermagazine theme and when you open my site http://www.tutorialeshqip.com there starts a popup ad not added by me…do you see these problem?

You didn’t see it beacuse the ferst time the popup were block…it is show only the first time…it is something integrate inside the code…
Do you have your original script of supermagazine? non that modifyed?

Thanks for this article. I have this template in the webiste that it’s under construction.
The problem is the thumbnails. Well, the problem is with articles not featured. I put en fill 1 “image” and in fill 2 the url image, but nothing.
It’s strange beacuse i don’t have problem with thumbnails in featured articles.

I believe it’s again the rule,..
maybe you can find it by yourself via google.
Many rapidshare link lay around the world for supermagazine
I believe that ’suspicious’ script that cause triggering popup usually placed at header.php or footer.php
you should concern in those files.
send me those two file,.. maybe i can help (if the popup script was there)

Oh, i realized that i have not changed the permission because i can\’t do that…
I try do it by Filezilla FTP, so I must write to the Server company and comment them this situation, isn\’t it?

Also, I get to the FTP by Windows explorer and when I tried to changed the properties said “This server doesn’t allowed to change the permissions”
So I wrote the hosting provider and they answered me that they can do this change and what is the folder i’d like to modify permissions….
I answered them, and i am waiting for their reply yet. I hate my hosting provider!

Hi Tomas, thanks to visit my blog and leave comment here,
I see that you have problems about images. I ever have those problem also.
I have set the ‘customfields’ with ‘image’ and fill the value wit my url images, and it also not shown.
Then, i try to fix it with trial and error, and i got it solved.
The solution :
Those problem were caused by cache folder!. When you publish post, this theme will make cache images with smaller size from url that you have been given. Your image not shown because this theme could not do that!, it usually due to your permission code about folder named ‘cache’
Please try to find a folder with name ‘cache’. Maybe it will found inside PLUGIN folder. Set those folder permission as writable, by change it value with 777. You can change this via FTP, or you can do it also via cpanel file manager.
When you have set this ‘cache’ folder as 777, your thumbnail will be shown.
I hope this will works.

Yes, you can use Filezilla to change the permission.
No need to email the hosting provider, because you can do it by your own.
How you can upload supermagazine theme into your web hosting?? you use filezilla also isn’t it?
Then,..
See your supermagazine theme via Filezilla. Inside those theme, there will be folder named PLUGIN. Enter this PLUGIN folder. You will find folder named as CACHE.
This folder is your problems,.
Press right click of your mouse, then select “File Attribut”
Change those permission into 777.
If you cannot find this theme,.. please try to make it.
Create new directory inside wordpress supermagazine theme with name PLUGIN
Then create new folder inside those plugin folder with name CACHE
and do not forget to set the attribut as 777
